About Us

Paul Abel

Paul is one of the founders and Senior Partners of NMA. He started life as a Mechanical Engineer and is enthusiastic in any type of heritage engineering specialising in re-commissioning and maintaining all types of machinery. He completed a three year heritage lottery funded apprenticeship scheme training to become a millwright and has successfully worked on a number of windmills and watermills over the country. He completed a number of courses within his training that allows him to work to very high standards without compromising on safety.

Tim Belden

Tim is one of the Senior Partners of NMA. He started life as a Civil Engineer project managing contracts worth up to £65m. Then progressed to be a Lecturer of Engineering and on to the role of Programme area manager for Agriculture, Countryside and Engineering. He has over 25 years of experience in all sorts of engineering projects above ground, below ground and even sub-sea.. He has always had a passion for restoration and heritage work for both machinery and buildings.

Jake Wilder

Jake is a Partner of NMA. He apprenticed as a carpenter before moving on to the HLF training scheme alongside Paul, training to become a millwright. After running his own company focusing on timber restoration and building conservation, he joined NMA as a specialist bridging the gap between modern restoration and practical conservation.
